This weekend we were able to pick up Jack's big boy bed and rearrange his room. We removed the last of the items that would be moving over to Luca's room and transformed Jack's room into his new big boy room. He took part in the whole thing. He was really anxious to use his play tools to assist Daddy-O with the dismantling of his crib and the assembling of his big boy bed. Jack seemed to have no issues with things being moved around and taken out of the room. He was excited about his bed.
His first night went well. He fell asleep easily. We thought wow-great transition. Before Todd and I turned in for the night, I went to check the thermostat and thought "let me take a look at my sweet baby grown up and sleeping his big boy bed." I quickly realized that Jack was asleep on the floor of his room, face down on his rug. It startled me at first and then I realized that Jack did not fall asleep in his bed at all. He had been sneaking in and out of his bed to peek down the hallway while laying on the floor. He was spying on Mommy and Daddy who were still awake in the living room. He fell asleep while spying on us. :-) Very cute. I tried to get a picture of him on the floor but he woke up when Todd and I went in there laughing and tip toeing around. Todd carried him to his bed and tucked him in for good. He slept through the night with no problems. Thank God! It was a bittersweet transition and I documented the day's events as I did when we were preparing for Jack's arrival before he was born. See below.
This was 3 years ago. Todd was assembling the crib and we were beginning to arrange Jack's room.
