Father's Day and Update

For Father's Day we celebrated by having pancakes and bacon for breakfast. This is not a big departure from a weekend norm but usually Daddy cooks it. This time, Mommy and Jack did. (which didn't go so well at first... used the wrong measurements and then my pancakes kept sticking.) We went to church and then Daddy had the afternoon to himself and went shopping for some clothes. We ended the day by going out for dinner. Here is Daddy and Jack before our meal. Todd is such a good Daddy. He deserves so much more.

Baby Front: Some friends from church hosted a shower for me. We loaded up on diapers and wipes and just good fellowship time with yummy finger foods. :-) Thanks ladies! I went to the doctor and we are schedule for an induction on July 14th. It will get here soon but still sounds like an eternity away for me. It has been super HOT and I want nothing to do with the outdoors right now. I also got some stats from my doctor that I was not too pleased with. I am currently 12 pounds heavier than my final weigh in with Jack! Yikes. Will keep everyone posted on any progress or changes that are made over here. We can't wait to meet this little guy!

35 Weeks

It has been a while but here we are at 35 weeks. Our due date is July 22nd, however we have discussed a possible induction date a week before. Our doctor will be going out of town as of July 15th and since this is my second baby, she has made an induction an option. When we get a date scheduled, we will let everyone know. I am looking pretty large these days. It is a little embarrassing walking into a restaurant to eat these days. I feel like everyone is staring at me thinking.. "I bet she is going to eat a lot." I believe I will surpass my weight gain from last time around. I am alternating a few outfits that still fit me so if you see me in town or at church or in a picture wearing the same thing just know I am not spending anymore money on maternity clothes. :-)

Other News: Todd was in California for about 11 days and Jack and I survived. It was a difficult week and a half but we made it. So glad Todd is home.

Backyard Bloom

I have no idea what plant this is... we got it from Mimi or one of Mimi's neighbors. It is a tropical plant with a beautiful bloom. :-)

Jack's Party

We had a birthday party for Jack. He requested a Cars Party so that is what he got. We decided to host in the backyard again. Although having a party elsewhere is probably easier, we decided to go through the trouble of actually utilizing our backyard. I know Jack will request parties elsewhere later anyway. :-) It was a bit of a task this time around trying to get things done with my belly and all but everything worked out well. Thanks to everyone that came, helped, drove in from out of town, and tolerated my barking of orders before the guests arrived!

Cousin Olivia and cousin Penny painting at Ramone's House of Body Art. (kind of have to be familiar with the movie)

Jack hitting his piñata. Was a Spiderman piñata until the piñata lady showed me how to turn it into a Lightning McQueen piñata

Cars cake that Jack helped me bake and decorate. His biggest contribution was smashing the oreos for the race track. :-)

Jack blowing out his 3 candles. And yes, that is my big belly in the background.

Happy Birthday Jack!

Today is Jack's birthday and we can't believe that it has already been 3 years! On this day we want Jack to know we love him and can't imagine life without him. He is the sweetest thing that could have ever happened to us and we are so blessed to have him as our little boy.

Penny Turns 3

The same weekend of Hattie's communion and our surprise shower, we celebrated Penny turning three. It is so awesome that Jack and Penny are so close in age. It makes family gatherings more comfortable. It really is nice to not be the only ones dealing with a toddler and they entertain each other!

Aunt Karen assisting Penny blow out her candles. (Not the best picture ever taken.)

Penny's party was at a Pump It Up (bounce house place). And if you recall a previous post, Jack is not a big fan. So he spent most of his time playing air hockey. :-) Uncle Sean and Penny vs. Todd and Jack. We didn't really keep score or anything. Just had some fun.

Surprise Shower

We have been really busy around here. Going out of town every weekend, hosting people in our home and trying to get ready for Jack's B-day and Luca's arrival. So  I am a little behind on the blogging. A couple of weeks ago Todd's family hosted a surprise baby shower for us. We were in Houston for Hattie's communion and Penny's birthday. Somehow, they managed to squeeze in a third celebration in for us! Amazing. Thanks Karen, Mimi and Gramps and anyone else that contributed to the planning! My sister and her family drove in to town for the shower and my aunt greeted me as we arrived at Mimi and Gramps' house. I was amazed that my side of the family was able to keep the shower a secret from me. We talk on a weekly, sometimes daily basis and they never slipped. Thanks to everyone that attended and gave us such sweet gifts for Luca. :-)

My sister is pregnant as well. Our due dates are about a month apart. And yes, I am this big now!

My aunt Linda with us girls. Do you think we all look related? Wow, check out how fat my arm looks!

Luca's first cake lady cake! Yummy.

Jack in the same room with both Penny and Olivia. What is a boy to do? Which cousin to take direction from? It was a slight collision of his worlds. :-)
